Meat and Potatoes

What you have in common is your key
What you do not is your acceptance
And what you like or do not like is your tolerance
And what you are not knowing of yet is your growth

Anyone can have sex, however can anyone have a relationship
A partnership
We all know how to meet
Yet do we all know how to stay
How to stand still in compromise when things do not go our way
When we are scared to have the love of another
And we want to run away just because we do not know what else to do

A relationship is our growing ground
And in the best case scenario
In safety
To grow and still be loved

It is a very hard thing to do when you are in argument
and then rekindle the parts where we like being vulnerable
And we open ourselves to loving in the freedom of how see love rather than what love is supposed to look like

We can decide that, we can choose to stay and fight
Fight for an us
For a place to stay
for what love can mean if we let it

It is our acceptance of us,
Of each of us
And then the bigger us
It is the compromise that we miss when we are alone
And the promise we feel when we are together

Our lives are meant for many things
And one big one is getting along
With ourselves
And then with others
That is both the meat and the potatoes
It is the meal
It is the balance
It is not having to choose one or the other
It is living in love as you know it, learn it, breath it, look for it and become it

Our love already exists in us
Postponing it because we are waiting for lightning to strike
Rather than a partnership
A look rather than a person
Stuff instead of love first
Then we have found every way around love and not in it

In it, as we find over time is the only way to go
And we would give everything to know it
So know it
We would give everything to meet someone
So let yourself
Without judgment
Warmth does not have a look
Truth does not have a price tag
And love does not have one definition

Fill your plate
With all your thoughts in real life
And real life exceeding your dreams
That is when you know you found life in life
And life in heart
Warmth in soul
And balance that extends itself to your home, your relationships, your work
